Fidalgo Island Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Empowering children and families
Fidalgo Island Pediatric OT is located in Anacortes, WA and serves families across Skagit and Island Counties. Our clinic addresses challenges that can arise from various experiences, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, fine or gross motor delay, dyspraxia, sensory processing difficulties, neurological disorders and regulatory disorders.
Occupational therapy helps children so they may participate in their "occupation" which includes self-care, productive activities and play.
Children may have difficulty in the following areas:
- self-care
- play and social interaction
- movement, including strength, endurance, balance, coordination and body scheme
- cognitive and executive functioning skills
- sensory processing
- fine motor tasks
- visual motor tasks or visual perception
- school tasks, including handwriting
Occupational therapy addresses underlying deficits through play and other therapeutic activities so children can become more successful in their daily occupations. Our goal of individualized occupational therapy is to help your child thrive, physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially. OT is evidence-based and child centered, and therapeutic activities are provided in a supportive, joyful environment. Collaboration with family and possibly other providers is essential in evaluation and treatment planning to help you and your child maximize benefit from OT. Occupational therapy evaluations are comprehensive and can include family interview, medical record review, clinical observations of your child and administration of standardized testing tools.
We offer:
- Occupational therapy evaluations
- Occupational therapy individualized treatment
